Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Swansea, Norwich, Fulham and Arsenal have all targeted some of these names in the past while a former Liverpool man is on the move to Italy in our exclusively continental round-up of the big movers and shakers at the start of Transfer Deadline Day.
With the Transfer Deadline Day getting into full swing going through every transfer across the continent would be almost an impossible task. So instead here are the biggest done deals and names to keep an eye of from the past 24 hours and looking forward to various different deadlines throughout the day.
Paris Saint-Germain, Roma, Lyon, Toulouse, Fiorentina, Atletico Madrid, Malaga, Valencia, Monaco, Inter Milan, Stuttgart, Dinamo Zagreb, FC Utrecht and ADO Den Haag all feature.
Paris Saint-Germain are continuing to be linked with a move for Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi. The Italian international is a one-cap man but compatriot and PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti believes they can lure him away from the Italian capital to the French alternative. Money should not be an object to the mega rich Ligue 1 side and De Rossi has reportedly fallen foul of the club management. Roma insist he is going nowhere but PSG have made it a habit to get their man in recent months.
The breaking news coming out of PSG is that former Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham is on his way to France to undergo a medical.
Such talk has only increased since young midfield talent Adrien Rabiot was allowed to join Toulouse on loan while negotiations are reportedly ongoing with Fiorentina to allow them the temporary services of former Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko. Currently away on international duty with Mali it is believed delegates from the Florence club will meet him in South Africa to confirm the move on deadline day itself; watch this space.
Surprising news coming from Holland where highly sought after midfield talent Jens Toornstra has left ADO Den Haag; to join FC Utrecht. The midfielder was reportedly ready to leave Holland with moves to England, Germany and Spain all reportedly in the pipeline. However the 24-year-old, who is on the cusp of the Dutch national team, has instead opted to move to Utrecht. The deal will help ease the financial burden at the ADO.
Atalanta midfielder Ezequiel Schelotto has signed for Inter Milan. ‘The Greyhound’ has signed after Inter missed out on Brazilian main transfer target Paulinho; who rejected their advances earlier Wednesday. Inter have also confirmed the signing of Mateo Kovacic from Dinamo Zagreb for a fee of €11 million. The 18-year-old Croatian has been dubbed the ‘new Luka Modric’. Meanwhile negotiations to bring in Zdravko Kuzmanovic earlier than his initial summer arrival from Stuttgart are still ongoing.
Jeremy Toulalan is being chased by teams from his homeland France as well as Atletico Madrid and Valencia. It is believed he is unwilling to leave Malaga at this moment but The Anchovies are considering letting him go to help their financial issues. He could be one of the big names on the move late today.
