Microsoft’s lifetime console sales could overtake that of rival Nintendo’s.
Lifetime Xbox 360 sales could beat those of the Wii in the UK as Microsoft’s device outsells its Nintendo rival by more than 4:1 in 2012.
According to the Chart-Track data provided to CVG, the Xbox 360 was within striking distance of the Wii, at just 200,000 units behind before Chirstmas.
Nintendo recently put its before-Christmas Wii sales at 8 million units, implying that UK Xbox 360 sales could be around 7.8 million.
This comes shortly after Microsoft revealed that Xbox 360 revenues were down by nearly 30%, with the company blaming the dip for its decline in revenue in its Entertainment Devices Division of 11 per cent.
Microsoft also revealed that it shipped nearly 6 million of its consoles in the second quarter of 2013, down from over 8 million units the previous year.
