West Ham midfielder Mohamed Diame is a player to watch as deadline day approaches, if reports are accurate. The Mail says that Diame has told 'close friends' that he wants to move to Arsenal. Diame has a £3.5 million release clause, but Tottenham have also been linked with trying to sign him.
Liverpool are close to signing Phillipe Coutinho from Inter Milan, with it claimed the Brazilian is on his way to Merseyside for a medical today. The 20-year-old had been interesting Southampton, but at this stage it looks like Liverpool will win this particular race.
Mario Balotelli could leave Manchester City as soon as today for AC Milan. The Sun claim City could sign Kevin Prince-Boateng in part-exchange. Milan are flip-flopping on a deal, making contradictory statements to the press at present, but it is claimed Balotelli threw a farewell party in Manchester at the weekend and is preparing for the possibility a deal may be done.
Chelsea are the latest team to be linked with Birmingham's 'for sale' goalkeeper Jack Butland, write The Mirror. It is claimed the Blues feel he is too good a bargain to turn down at £3.5 million and are considering a bid, despite Petr Cech's number on status. Chelsea have Thibaut Courtois pencilled in as his replacement at the moment, but he is wanted by Barcelona.
Reading have had a £6.5 million offer rejected for Tom Ince by Blackpool, report The Mail, and look set to turn their attentions to Tottenham's David Bentley instead.
QPR have had another bid rejected for West Brom's wantaway striker Peter Odemwingie. The Nigerian is keen on a move, but the Baggies do not want to sell him until the summer. ESPN claim QPR are likely to go back in with another bid.
Norwich and Fulham both want to sign QPR's Jamie Mackie, the Mirror report. The Scottish international has been told he can leave the club and would cost around £3 million.
