Most of the teams battling for the top four have yet to enter the market in a significant fashion, but these five players could be pivotal in determining who from Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool claim the final Champions League berth.
The Spain international is reportedly available for around £12 million due to Sevilla's poor financial situation, and there has even been speculation that they would allow Negredo to go out on loan in order to remove his wages from their bill. Tottenham Hotspur are rumoured to be the club closest to finalising a deal, and this could be a huge boost to their aspirations in the second half of the season.
Another striker on the market for just over £10 million, Bony has scored 16 league goals in 18 appearances for Vitesse Arnhem this season, and Liverpool and Chelsea have been linked with a move for his services. The Ivorian is currently at the African Cup of Nations, but his club have said they would consider any significant offers for him this January, and his firepower would be welcome at any of the sides chasing 4th place.
Diame might not be a world class player in his own right, but given the need that Everton, Spurs and Arsenal all have for a defensive midfielder, if any of those teams sign him, they could have an important advantage over their rivals. Arsenal seem to be favourites, although there is confusion over whether West Ham are accepting bids even if they meet his £3.5 million release clause.
The Moroccan has been subject to one of the most annoying transfer sagas of the window, with Montpellier spreading disinformation all over the place to try and raise the price of their midfielder, even going so far as to say they accepted a bid form Inter that the Italian club denied ever making. However, Spurs and Arsenal have both been linked with Belhanda, and at £10 million he fits into the budget of either club. A talented attacking midfielder, he would add depth to either attack, and could add plenty of creativity in the closing months of the season.
The Barcelona winger is reportedly available on loan, and could improve the squad of any of the teams chasing a top four place. Cuenca might be a low key signing compared to the others on this list, but adding depth to the attack could be vital to Spurs, Liverpool and Everton in particular, and if any of these sides nab Cuenca until the end of the season, they will have undoubtedly aided their chances of Champions League qualification.
