Football League Transfer Talk: Including Derbyshire and Adomah

Blackpool, Leicester City, Leeds United and Blackburn Rovers all feature.

Blackpool are poised to sign Matt Derbyshire on loan from Nottingham Forest. Blackpool are thought to be keen on sorting out a deal for Derbyshire for the rest of the season which will give their new manager more attacking options when he’s eventually appointed.

Leicester City have agreed a deal with Manchester United to keep Michael Keane on loan until the end of the season. The defender’s loan spell was due to finish after the next league match against Wolves but United have allowed the teenager to stay at the club to develop his first team experience.

Leeds United have confirmed that striker Luciano Becchio has handed in a transfer request. Reports suggest that Wigan are trying to sign Becchio and give him the chance to play Premier League football. Another unnamed club are also thought to have made a bid for him.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones has played down stories linking the club with a move for striker Jason Scotland. Scotland is a free agent after it was confirmed that he’d left Ipswich Town with Sheffield Wednesday and several other clubs thought to be keen on signing the 33-year-old.

Bristol City have confirmed that they have rejected a bid from an unnamed club for winger Albert Adomah. Adomah is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana while his representatives try to get his future sorted out back in England. Several clubs are thought to be keen on signing him.

Blackburn Rovers have confirmed that Mauro Formica has signed for Palermo on loan until the end of the season. Palermo are second bottom of Serie A and the deal is thought to give the side the option to sign Formica permanently when the loan deal expires at the end of June.

Nottingham Forest have finally completed the signing of Millwall striker Darius Henderson. He moves to Forest on a deal until the end of the season for an undisclosed fee. Henderson becomes Forest’s third signing of the January transfer window.
