European transfer update: Including Llorente and Gago

Juventus 2

Former transfer targets for Liverpool, Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham feature as well as QPR missing out on a major transfer target

AC Milan, Juventus, Inter Milan, Fiorentina, Genoa, Chievo, Lyon, Montpellier, Fenerbahce, Rennes, Valencia, Hoffenheim, Wisla Krakow and Rubin Kazan all feature.

Former Fulham, Tottenham and Arsenal transfer target Yann M’Vila has agreed a move to Russian outfit Rubin Kazan. The French international originally appeared to be on the verge of a move to Premier League side QPR but the Russian side have come in with a big-money move for the Rennes midfielder which should see him playing in the Russian Premier League this season. The deal had looked in doubt due to a transfer embargo in relation to unpaid fees toward ex Rubin player Roman Adamov but it seems they have managed to negate these problems and have got their man.

Juventus have announced the signing of Athletic Bilbao hitman Fernando Llorente, but he won't arrive until the summer. Llorente has signed a pre-contract agreement to move on a free in July when his current deal runs out, and will remain in Spain until then. Llorente had been heavily linked with Arsenal and Tottenham prior to the transfer window.

Inter Milan have denied making a bid for Moroccan playmaker Younes Belhanda. The Montpellier man was linked with a big-money move to Italy earlier in the week but the Nerazzuri have stated that no bid has been made. Belhanda is currently playing for Morocco at Afcon 2013 and is reportedly receiving interest from Tottenham while Turkish side Fenerbahce have already made a bid for the player.

Didier Drogba is still being considered a January option for AC Milan. The Rossoneri head coach Massimiliano Allegri has announced his admiration for the Ivorian striker who is currently representing his country in South Africa. Juventus are also keen to take advantage of his current issues at Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.

Another player being linked with a move to Juventus is Lyon forward Lisandro Lopez. The Argentine has previously been linked with Fiorentina but with their signing of Giuseppe Rossi earlier in the month that now seems unlikely and Juve are reportedly willing to take him initially on loan till the end of the season before completing a permanent deal in the summer.

Fernando Gago is being linked with a move to Inter Milan. The former Real Madrid player is currently at Valencia and Andrea Stramaccioni sees him as a cheaper alternative to the expensive Paulinho of Corinthians.

Genoa have allowed 25-year-old Chilean midfielder Felipe Seymour to move to Chievo on loan until the end of the season. He will wear the number ‘7’ at the club and an option to buy at the end of the season is written into his loan agreement.

One cap German international Marvin Compper seems to be on his way out of Hoffenheim with Fiorentina interested in his signature. The 27-year-old has been banished to the under-23 team after reportedly falling out with the management at the club.

Finally and Israeli striker Maor Melikson has given hope over a potential move to Celtic this January after announcing his disappointment that such a move from Wisla Krakow could not be finalised in the summer.
