Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International Appoints New CEO

Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International (MUSI) in London has that announced Paul Hartwell will join the firm as Chief Executive Officer, subject to regulatory requirements and approvals being met.

In addition to his role as CEO of MUSI, Hartwell will sit on the International Management Committee of the Mitsubishi UFJ Securities Holdings Co., Ltd. (MUSHD). Hartwell will report to the MUSI Board and Cliff De Souza, MUSHD Principal Executive Officer and Head of International Business.

Commenting on the appointment, De Souza said: 'Paul joins us at an interesting time, as we continue to expand our international business in contrast to many of our peers. Given his management experience and background in risk, he is perfectly equipped to lead the firm through the opportunities and challenges ahead.

'I also wish to take this opportunity to thank David King for the tremendous job he has done in leading the firm on an interim basis over the past 9 months. I have no doubt that David's leadership played a significant role in our outstanding results in 2012'.

David will now focus on his existing role as International CFO as well as remaining a member of the MUSI Board and the International Management Committee.
