Five players who should leave Manchester City this January

Manchester City Etihad

Which players could leave Manchester City; permanently or on loan this January?

Manchester City are constantly linked with bringing new players in to the club but who should Roberto Mancini consider letting go?

Which five could be on their way to the exit door?

Mario Balotelli

Wishful thinking on my part as I concede I am not the biggest fan of Signor Balotelli but disregarding my bias selling does make sense. They should be able to cash in to a degree, free up space for a good striker and one who doesn’t act like a petulant child on an almost fortnightly basis. Balotelli related rant over.

John Guidetti

Now the promising Swede is back to full training and readying himself for a return to action he has severe competition for starting places at The Etihad. Last season he had a fantastic spell out on loan in Holland but his career was threatened by a rare illness that affected his central nervous system. He is being heavily linked with a loan-move to Spain, Italy or his destination last season Feyenoord. Where he goes is up to City but sending him out on loan certainly makes sense to us.

Joleon Lescott

Another player far too good to be sitting on the bench at City. Lescott has seen his stock fall behind the impressive Matija Nastasic and even Kolo Toure in recent months and despite his denial of a potential move you can bet in private he is growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunity.

Abdul Razak

Razak is a promising youngster which basically means he should already discount any hopes of playing in the first-team at City. To be fair he does not look up to the grade for the Premier League champions and has only been partially successful on his loan spells. Currently away with Cote d’Ivoire at the Afcon 2013 in South Africa he may want to invite any suitors to the continent to discuss his availability.

Dedryck Boyata

His loan deal at FC Twente was an unmitigated disaster and the one-cap Belgian international returned to Manchester City earlier in the month. At 22-years-old any hope he may improve enough to be a future City player is now scarce and it may be time to call it quits for the powerful defender.

Should Manchester City sell any of these players?
