NBA Trade Talk: Memphis and Cavs do business plus; where next for Gay and Millsap?

Memphis and Cleveland have done some big business while the rumour mill continues to shine on Rudy Gay and Utah Jazz's Paul Millsap

With just under a month to go until the trade deadline in the NBA plenty of rumours are starting to emerge. We take a look at some of the ones from the web today…

Jon Leuer to Memphis and Marreese Speights, Josh Selby and a second round draft pick goes in the other direction

One trade seems to be a done deal today as the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Memphis Grizzlies look set to complete a big deal to start the trade season. The deal will see Jon Leuer join up with Memphis while the Cavs will be compensated with Marreese Speights, Josh Selby and a second round draft pick.

Rudy Gay

It is isn’t news that Memphis Grizzlies want to hear but there is growing belief that one of the stars of their season so far could be traded out in the next month. You can understand why teams have come looking for him considering his performances so far this campaign. Averaging his highest ever assist per game ratio and 17.6 points every time he takes to the court he has been one of the NBA’s under the radar performers.

The forward has been linked with nearly every franchise under the sun and with Memphis not wanting to pay out on his massive salary over the next two years there can be little doubt that he is certainly being touted around rival teams.

Paul Millsap

The Utah Jazz power forward is an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season and the Jazz are not exactly bereft of options when it comes to the frontcourt. The fear he might leave during his free agency is very real so a sensible trade is surely something to be considered. The likes of the Brooklyn Nets, Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks are all being linked with the 27-year-old but a deal is not likely until later in the trade calendar.

While both teams may be willing to let these names go do not expect to see them depart on the quick and easy. Both teams will expect to be handsomely rewarded for any departure.

Where do you see Gay and Millsap ending up?
