There are dozens of online media sources which are suggesting Kaka will join Chelsea from Real Madrid by the end of the month or in the summer. Does it seem far fetched? Quite probably, but let's take a closer look.
For whatever reason, the talented Brazilian play maker has failed to settle during his time at the Spanish champions, after they spent over £50 million to secure his original transfer.
It now seems that he will be allowed to leave on a free deal by the end of this month or at the end of the season with Chelsea being tipped as the most likely English destination.
The question is whether Chelsea need him considering they already have a core group of talented midfielders; Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Oscar and John Obi Mikel among others.
There will be a gap opening up when Frank Lampard leaves and Chelsea could certainly afford the wages that Kaka’s representatives would ask for.
However, Rafa Benitez is not going to be in charge after the summer which means any rival to Chelsea for this player is in a better position to sign the Brazilian.
This nicely brings Manchester United into the equation, a side openly looking for a top class midfielder to fill the void which will be created by Paul Scholes’ second retirement.
Kaka could be interested in the security offered by an Old Trafford move and he would justify an automatic first team place as opposed to Chelsea, where he may be required to earn his first team chances.
United would also be willing to spend a larger amount on wages considering Kaka could be available on a free transfer.
The team that could ruin the party is Paris Saint-Germain from France who would, without question, probably offer Kaka the best financial deal that he can get his hands on.
If he’s a money motivated player then he may choose this route and he may be convinced to sign for PSG by the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
It all seems like a little bit of a lottery which could be dominated by the team that shows the initiative and gets in their first for someone who was considered one of the best players in the world only a couple of years ago.
Tell us where you think Kaka will go if he leaves Real Madrid.
