Football League Transfer Talk: Including Henderson and Wells

Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield Town, Crystal Palace and Cardiff City all feature.

Nottingham Forest are hunting Millwall striker Darius Henderson. Alex McLeish has singled out Henderson as a target and is thought to be keen on adding the striker to his squad. Henderson has scored seven goals in 20 matches so far this season with Millwall unlikely to achieve anything other than survival this season.

Huddersfield Town are leading the race to sign Bradford City star Nahki Wells. Wells has scored 17 goals for Bradford so far this season and has been given a shopping window to promote himself via the club’s League Cup run this season. Huddersfield have made enquiries about the player according to various reports.

Cardiff City are on the verge of signing Frazier Campbell from Sunderland despite reported interest from Crystal Palace. Campbell has not featured in Martin O’Neill’s plans for Sunderland this season which means he is surplus to requirements at the Stadium of Light.

Crystal Palace have signed Norwich City midfielder Jacob Butterfield on loan. Butterfield links up with the London based side for a month as Ian Holloway looks to add to his attacking options. Butterfield was on loan at Bolton Wanderers earlier in the season.

Bolton Wanderers, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace are all thought to be keen on signing Bristol City’s Albert Adomah. The player has just gone off to the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana and has been one of the best performers for the Championship strugglers so far this season.

Lee Clark has been ruled out of the running for the Blackpool manager’s jobs. Blackpool had made an informal approach to talk to the Birmingham City manager but he has seemingly committed himself to the Midlands club as he tries to guide them back into the Premier League.

Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed that Daniel Jones has left the club by mutual consent. Jones’ contract was cancelled which means he is now available as a free agent to any side who wants to sign him. He made only ten appearances for the club this season.
