The Top 10 La Liga targets for Premier League clubs

Camp Nou

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Swansea have all been linked with La Liga players during the transfer window.

David Villa's potential move to England has been one of January's biggest rumours but with Barcelona refusing to sell, who could the Premier League's sides look to from La Liga.

Here are 10 Spanish based players who would light up the Prem....

1) Iago Aspas

There has been plenty of players who have come from nowhere to shine in La Liga this season and right on the top of that list is Celta Vigo's Iago Aspas. The 25-year-old forward has played for the Galicians since joining them at the tender age of 8 and he is now beginning to show why they had so much faith in him.

25 goals in 37 games last season to help Celta claim promotion back to La Liga and now 8 in 19 this season is exactly the reason the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest.

2) Leo Baptistao

Brazilian born Leo is only 20-years-old and the likes of Manchester United and Atletico Madrid are extremely keen. His six goals in 16 games this season have been an example of his talent but he a creator too and has assisted in a further six for Rayo this season.

If reports are to be believed then he will be joining Atletico Madrid but it wouldn't hurt the likes of Man United to test Rayo Vallecano's will power and make a January move.

3) Markel Susaeta

No better time than the present to sign Athletic Bilbao players after an awful start to the domestic season has seen the likes of Javi Martinez (summer) and Fernando Llorente (pending) ask to leave.

25-year-old Susaeta is superb and his talents were justly awarded in early November when he was capped by Spain, scoring on his international debut against Panama.

4) Ruben Castro

He may have been around for 10 years but Ruben Castro at the age of 31 is becoming a real handful in La Liga. His performances last season saw him score 16 goals in the league and he already has an impressive 11 this year.

It's doubtful he would leave Betis as he is the main reason behind their brilliant league form this season but who knows, a bid from a wise English club could arrive.

5) Filipe Luis

One of the standout defenders in La Liga this and last season, Brazilian full-back Filipe Luis is one of the many reasons behind Atletico Madrid's success. Signing in 2010 for £13.5m, it's highly doubtful he would leave Atleti but big spenders like Man City would be fools not to take a second look at his quality.

6) Isco

The new Andres Iniesta, the future of the Spanish national team, Isco. Well, if reports are to be believed then Chelsea or Man City may try and tempt Malaga to release him but that won't be until the summer.

He is simply brilliant, the ball sticks to his feet and his talents of playing anywhere in the middle of the park is an asset only few midfielders have.

7) Luka Modric

Ah, Luka. It hasn't gone well for Croatian playmaker Modric since he left the Premier League to join Real Madrid and the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd will do battle to sign him either now in January or in the summer.

However, one stumbling point may be the transfer fee Real Madrid are after as they paid an astonishing £40m for him last summer.

8) Radamel Falcao

The best number 9 in world football at present, Radamel Falcao is probably the most wanted transfer target at the moment with clubs such as Paris Saint Germain, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and Inter Milan all vying for him to join them.

His exit from Atletico Madrid looks likely either in January or over the summer but who will it be that signs the prolific Colombian?

9) Benat

Much like Malaga's Isco, Benat has created a real name for himself in Spanish football and is wanted by virtually every club in Europe. His time with Betis is likely to end and soon but Premier League clubs may have a battle on their hands with the likes of Bayern Munich and La Liga's very own Athletic Bilbao.

10) Patrick Ebert

Finally, the man of the moment. German winger Patrick Ebert is simply brilliant. He joined Real Valladolid for free last summer but his performances over the course of the season have set clubs tongues wagging and with a release clause of just £8m, who would say no?

Which of these 10 do you most want to see in the Premier League?
