Helicopter Crashes in South London

A helicopter crashed into a crane in south London Wednesday morning, close to Vauxhall train station. The police confirmed that two people were dead at the scene and two others have been taken to south London hospital..

Earlier, the London Fire Brigade confirmed that its firemen were 'attending reports of a helicopter crash near Wandsworth Road in South Lambeth'.

They added: 'At this early stage it appears a helicopter was in collision with a crane on top of a building'.
 
It is not known how many people were on board the aircraft.

The crash happened during foggy weather conditions Wednesday morning, close to the London Heliport in Battersea, the closest helipad to central London.

Users on Twitter shared pictures of the crash, which happened during morning rush hour.

Calls to the London Heliport were not returned.
