Jack Wilshere inevitably and deservedly will get the plaudits, his performance was unequivocally superb and his goal clinical in it's execution.
The Gunners now go through to the fourth round of the FA Cup to play Brighton, and can cling onto the hope that this time around 'it may be their year'.
The game was also notable for the fact it was Abou Diaby's second game in four days - And he didn't get injured. It really does offer hope to the Gunners going forward.
Can he play a third game in eight days when Arsenal face Chelsea on Sunday? That will be the hope, otherwise Francis Coquelin or Aaron Ramsey will have to fill in.
As for last night, he didn't look out of place at all, but he wasn't on the pitch when Arsenal scored the winner, he had been substituted for Ramsey four minutes earlier, with 82 minutes on the clock.
With a wish to shine a spotlight on his performance, to see whether fans feel he can be a solution in midfield, or whether Wenger needs to bring in a new player, we took to Twitter to see what fans were saying about his contribution, and if they felt confident he can stay fit; and here is what they had to say:
@mikedeeganjr: Diaby also excellent. If he could stay fit we'd be laughing all the way to the final and into the top 4. Fact.
@jayblack518: Wilshere, Gibbs, Coquelin, Diaby and Mertesacker impressed me today, in that order too.
@snoekrats: Diaby been the missing link, driving runs from midfield makes a huge difference
@kgriffin07: Diaby did well today for someone thats been out for so long. Broke up play. Couple nice passes. At least twice covering our last man too.
@keeno86_afc: Although we know it won't happen, how good would it be if Diaby stayed fit for the rest of the season...
@ugartecp: As much as we joke about Diaby's fitness, his presence is noted and missed when he is out. Underrated contributor
@baiyegbusi: This is the first time we've outplayed Swansea. The key was in playing two DMs in Diaby and Coquelin. Leaving Jack to freestyle.
@mjeffrey24: Arsene wenger you need to look at the team selection, off comes diaby and we score. coincidence!!!!! I think not!!
@daveterry44: I think we can safely say Jack's back!!! And Diaby has had a great game too!!!
@abbasazram: Diaby did well considering he's just returned
@ckerrjones: I hope Diaby stays fit this time. Boy does our midfield click when he is fit!
@arsenal_outside: Love diaby. We just need someone else so we don't miss him so much when he's out.
@clockendgooner: I know he's between injuries but I thought Diaby did well tonight. Gives us that "presence" in the middle.
Can Diaby play an important role this season? Do Arsenal still need to sign cover?
