Loic Remy has been causing a tug of war for Premier League teams this month, and he isn't the only in-demand player from across the channel.
Here is a look at 10 'non-Remy' Frenchman who could be appearing on Match of the Day before long...
1) Yann M'Vila
M'Vila is France's midfield 'badboy' banned from internationals until 2014 after breaking a curfew and going to a nightclub. Harsh, sure, but at least he can rest up in international breaks. He is a no nonsense defensive midfielder who at one point seemed destined to join Arsenal. Tottenham were thought to be interested along with Newcastle, but it is Harry Redknapp and QPR who are making the biggest play to his signature.
2) Moussa Sissoko
Spurs were once said to have had a bid in excess of £20 million turned down for Sissoko. Now it is being reported he could be bought from Toulouse for just £3.5 million as he has just months remaining on his contract. Newcastle have been most strongly linked with a deal, but Arsenal are too repoted to be monitoring him.
3) Bafetimbi Gomis
Lyon striker Gomis is enjoying an excellent season, as the third top scorer in Ligue One with 11 goals. He has been linked with Chelsea and Liverpool, and has refused to commit his future to Lyon despite pressure to do so.
4) Ettien Capoue
Capoue was touted for Arsenal last summer as a cheaper alternative to M'Vila, and while Wenger never took the plunge, the possibility of a transfer remain. Barcelona were even interested in the defensive midfielder until they bought Alex Song, and the Toulouse midfielder has only enhanced his reputation this term. Everton were last night said to have made an approach for him as cover in case Marouane Fellaini leaves Goodison.
5) Younes Belhanda
Belhanda is a Ligue One champion, winning the title with Montpellier last season. But this one has been far tougher for the club, and attacking midfielder Belhanda is said to be available for transfer at the right price. Fenerbahce have made the first move to sign him, but Tottenham are showing a serious interest as he is a cheaper and younger alternative to the costly Wesley Sneijder.
6) Serge Aurier
Another exciting Toulouse player, right-back Aurier is a target for Arsenal. The Gunners want the 20-year-old Ivory Coast defender as competition for Carl Jenkinson in case Bacary Sagna leaves the club and believe they can pick him up for around £5 million, but it remains to be seen whether they will move in this transfer window.
7) Kevin Gameiro
Kevin Gameiro has fallen out of favour at PSG after Zlatan Ibrahimovic's arrival, but he still has five goals in 10 starts this season. The Frenchman was linked with a loan move to Liverpool, and is also wanted by Everton, and is expected to clinch a move away from PSG before the transfer window closes. Keep an eye on this one.
8) Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa
Versatile defender Yanga-Mbiwa has been consistently linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, while Manchester United have also been mentioned as suitors for him. He is the Montpellier captain, and can play anywhere across the back four, and has spoken of his desire for a new challenge. AC Milan are also interested in bringing him on board.
9) Gaetan Bong
Gaetan Bong is a Cameroonian international who plays for Valenciennes. The Independent reported last week that Newcastle United had made a bid to try to sign the full-back, and while there have been no developments, this is one which may be revisited before the window closes as the Toon look to shore up their backline.
10) Lucas Digne
Lille teenager Lucas Digne is wanted by clubs around Europe, including Manchester United and Chelsea, while Real Madrid have also been discussed. A former teammate of Eden Hazard, Digne is a left-back who can also play in midfield who at the age of 18 is already enjoying his second season in Ligue One, a very exciting prospect.
Which of these 10 do you most want to see in the Premier League?
