Reports have emerged suggesting Liverpool will try to hijack Galatasaray’s deal to sign Wesley Sneijder from Inter Milan. Several national newspapers have suggested that Liverpool will consider signing the former Real Madrid man if he drops his high demands for a huge pay packet.

Atletico Madrid have become the latest side linked with Liverpool number one Pepe Reina. TalkSport is reporting that the Spanish club are offering Reina a way back to his home land which suggests Reina could opt out of Anfield after a mixed first half of the season.

Liverpool have been warned off by Barcelona amid reports the club could make an approach for Victor Valdes. If Pepe Reina leaves Anfield, Liverpool will be forced to find a top alternative with Valdes stalling over a new contract at Barcelona to remain with the side for the rest of his career.

Liverpool have a fight on their hands to secure the services of Norway defender Vegard Forren. Liverpool have invited the Molde defender to have a trial with the Anfield club but many media outlets are reporting that Southampton are about to make the first official approach with suggestions the trial has been cancelled.

Federico Fazio has emerged as a possible alternative to Vegard Forren at Liverpool. The Sevilla defender is available and the Metro has suggested that two clubs from the Bundesliga have already made enquiries over his immediate future at the Spanish club.

Liverpool could provide Manchester United with stiff competition for Kevin Strootman this summer. Various sources have suggested that Liverpool will make a move for the PSV Eindhoven skipper which could start a bidding war against the club’s arch enemies United.

Brendan Rodgers has said he will only bring in players who can play in multiple positions. Rodgers has frequently commented on the small size of Liverpool’s squad in recent weeks and versatile players would allow him to cover a greater number of positions.
