Arsenal have joined the race to sign £10 million rated Marseille forward Loic Remy, report The Independent. The Frenchman had been expected to join Newcastle United as a replacement for Demba Ba but the Gunners' late interest is thought to have thrown him. Remy grew up as an Arsenal fan, and he is expected to now hold out and see how serious their interest is before committing his future, and hasn't ruled out staying in Marseille.
Flipping the tables, Newcastle want to sign long-term Arsenal target Yann M'Vila, according to the Mail. The Frenchman is keen to leave Rennes and Newcastle's knowledge of the Ligue One market is second to none, so it is little surprise they have entered the race to sign him. The midfielder would give important cover for African Nations Cup bound Cheik Tiote, but Newcastle will not want to pay over the odds for the player, who has rejected the chance to join QPR.
The Mirror say Newcastle want to sign Moussa Sissoko from Toulouse as an alternative, who could cost as little as £3.5 million because his contract is up.
Fabricio Coloccini has been linked with an exit from Newcastle, with San Lorenzo interested in him report The Metro. The defender's dad recently called on him to quit the club and the chance to return to his homeland in Argentina will be interesting for him, but Newcastle are expected to reject any bids.
Manchester United want to sign Real Betis midfielder Benat, according to Italian newspaper Corielle dello Sport. Betis want his 20 million Euros release clause to be met, but United are unlikely to move until the summer, which will suit the player as he wants to see out the season in Spain. Chelsea and Manchester City have previously been linked with the midfielder who is a Spain international.
QPR are looking at two players, one is Zulte-Waregem striker Habib Habibou, write The Mail. The forward plays alongside Chelsea loanee Thorgan Hazard in Belgium and has scored six goals this season. The second is Stoke midfielder Wilson Palacios, say The Sun. Palacios was signed by Harry Redknapp for Tottenham and the manager wants to reignite his career after an unsuccessful spell at the Britannia.
Manchester City are open to selling Mario Balotelli, claim The Guardian. They want £25 million for the forward who is a long-term target of AC Milan, but the San Siro club won't make a move until they can get former City striker Robinho off their books, with a return to South America most likely.
The Guardian also re-iterate that Manchester United are favourites to sign Wilfried Zaha, but it is Arsenal rather than Tottenham who are most likely to rival them for his signature after Spurs pulled out of the bidding, as they are focusing their efforts on signing Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo.
Fulham could spark a bidding war by making the first move for Jack Butland, the Mirror report. Everton, Liverpool, Arsenal and Southampton all want to sign the Birmingham goalkeeper who is already an England international. Fulham feel the offer of first team football will help entice Butland to the club.
