Targets for Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and Chelsea feature, along with Manchester City, Everton and Swansea City players.
A list of the top ten players currently in high demand during the transfer window.
1) Loic Remy
Newcastle United are targeting Remy and have been ever since the window opened. He’s already turned down a move to QPR after Harry Redknapp flew to France to hold talks with the player.
2) Wilfried Zaha
Zaha has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United since the start of the season. Rumours suggest that United are ready to offer £12 million for Zaha in the summer but fresh newspaper reports this morning have suggested Arsenal will try and hijack any deal.
3) David Villa
Barcelona have ruled out the sale of striker David Villa this January but he could be available in a cut price deal this summer. Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been mentioned as possible Premier League destinations.
4) Alvaro Negredo
Tottenham seem to be in pole position to land Sevilla forward Alvaro Negredo on a long term contract. Chelsea have also been linked with the front man but the recent signing of Demba Ba discredits this. Sevilla’s president is apparently in London to finalise the deal.
5) Leandro Damiao
Another Tottenham Hotspur target seeking a move away from current club Internacional. Andre Villas-Boas has admitted he is interested in the player and respects him but has said a deal this January is unlikely meaning Spurs could launch a big bid to sign him this summer.
6) Wesley Sneijder
Sneijder has been linked with a move away from Inter Milan since last November when the club said he wouldn’t play again until he’d taken a wage cut. Galatasaray are thought to be in talks with his representatives but long term admirers Manchester United could still make an offer.
7) Robert Lewandowski
Lewandowski has been linked with Manchester United for a long time. United were dealt blows earlier in the week when Sven Bender and Mario Gotze committed their futures to Borussia Dortmund which means United could be better positioned to land the German champions’ hit man this summer.
8) Marouane Fellaini
The Everton man is being hunted by Manchester United and Chelsea, with a buy out clause in his contract around the £22 million mark. Fellaini is the sort of player that United and Chelsea don’t possess but he has said he will stay at Everton if they manage to qualify for the Champions League.
9) Edin Dzeko
Dzeko’s future at City is a little unclear as he seems to be behind Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli in the pecking order. Juventus and Inter Milan have been linked with substantial bids for the Bosnian although he’s thought to want a move back to Germany.
Michu has impressed many in his first season of Premier League football with Swansea City. Michael Laudrup has valued his striker at £30 million which would represent a profit of £28 million for the Welsh side. Numerous clubs have been linked but whether they have the resources is a different matter.
