A solution for the Liverpool and Tom Ince negotiations

Liverpool have been trying to seal a deal for Tom Ince but without success. Is there an easy way around it?

Liverpool want to sign Tom Ince, but so far they haven't been able to. Why?

The reasons are two-fold. (a) The Reds can't agree a fee with his club Blackpool and (b) Ince is concerned about sitting on the bench if he signs.

Ignoring the fact Ince is being quite demanding for a player currently plying his trade in the Championship, the problem could be solved.

Only Brendan Rodgers knows how he sees Ince fitting into his plans, and he should be able to make his offer to Ince accordingly. The problem is because Blackpool haven't given the Reds permission to speak to Ince directly there has been no formal sit down chat.

So Liverpool and Blackpool need to sort out where to go next if they are to progress. One logical solution is to offer Blackpool the chance to keep Ince on loan for the rest of the season.

This would do two things, it would compensate for the price difference as Blackpool would get to keep the player for the rest of the campaign, and allow Ince to keep playing regular football.

It is easy to understand Ince's nervousness about the move. He was at Liverpool before but was released as the path to the first team made progress too unlikely.

So at Blackpool he has flourished, and the last thing he wants to do is go back to sitting in the reserves at Anfield, that would be a backwards step rather than a forwards one.

If Liverpool and Blackpool agree to keep him in the Championship for the rest of the year, Ince can rest assured his big move is secured, but know that he can continue his impressive season with the Tangerines.

Then in the summer he can join up with Liverpool, get a full pre-season under his belt with the rest of the squad and start trying to establish himself at the club.

Manchester United are looking at doing something similar with Wilfried Zaha and sending him back to Crystal Palace until the season end to secure his signature, and Liverpool might just find this ticks all the boxes.

Should Liverpool sign Ince and loan him back until next season? What do you think?
