Which Manchester City striker could be on his way to Italy in a £25 million deal to join Inter Milan?

Italian giants Inter Milan are readying a £25 million bid for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.

The Daily Mail has reported that the club have drawn up a list of key attacking names they are looking to target with Dzeko right at the very top.

The Bosnian has been unable to hold down a regular starting place at City this season and has been used in a rotation system alongside Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli.

The stumbling block is City’s reluctance to sell in January considering they have not yet lined up a replacement for Dzeko, meaning they would be left with only three key strikers in their squad.

Inter could tempt Dzeko away from City with the promise of regular first team football in Serie A, Italian domestic competitions and also the Champions League.

He is a good enough player to settle in instantly with the different pace and style of Italian football as he has proven that he can cope with the physical side of the English game and also get involved in the passing and creative build up play.

Dzeko has been warming the bench for most of this Premier League season and has made 11 appearances as a substitute against only seven starts.

However, he has been prolific with nine goals which is one of the main reasons why Inter Milan appear to be targeting him as additional attacking fire power considering the imminent departure of Wesley Sneijder.

Of course Dzeko and Sneijder are completely different players but Inter have been playing without the Dutchman since November and the fees generated by his sale would allow a bid for City’s Bosnian front man.

It would be a terrific move for the player and for Inter Milan if they can pull it off but City don’t look as though they are going to sign a striker this January, which means the deal could be pushed back until the summer.

However, Dzeko has previously said that should he leave City, he would prefer a move back to the Bundesliga where he was previously playing before Manchester City snapped him up.

Tell us what you think, should Dzeko leave Manchester City if he gets the chance?
