Emmanuel Adebayor is the Tottenham player in the news today for two reasons. The striker is said to have had his arm twisted into playing for Togo in the African Nations Cup later this month meaning he will miss several weeks of Premier League action at a crucial time of year. Adebayor had previously quit international football in a row over bonuses but the President of Togo stepped in last week and summoned the striker to a meeting and the West African country are now claiming success in their mission to talk him into playing in South Africa, although the player himself is yet to comment.
A surprise development has seen Serie A champions Juventus register their interest in the striker. Despite his ACON involvement, the Express claim a transfer could still happen this month, if not this summer.
The race for Wilfried Zaha is really hotting up, and it looks like a three-way fight between Spurs, Manchester United and Arsenal. Tottenham and United are pursuing the Palace man most aggressively with Arsenal taking a backseat for the time being. Sir Alex Ferguson will try to get one up on Spurs by offering to loan the player back to Palace, but the Manchester Evening News report Spurs have made the first move.

The bookies have been having their say on Wesley Sneijder's future, and they believe he is most likely to head to White Hart Lane. Sneijder in 11/10 on to join Spurs, with Manchester United second favourites at 5/2.
UEFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against Lazio for anti-semitic talks during their match with Spurs in the Europa League last year, however Tottenham have also been charged with separate crowd disturbances themselves.
A report in the Telegraph over the weekend has claimed Spurs are looking to replace Adebayor with long-term target Leandro Damiao and are preparing a £15 million bid this month. The report also claims Jake Livermore is likely to head to QPR and Fulham are looking at bidding for Tom Huddlestone.
Lewis Holtby could move to Spurs earlier than planned, with talk of a £1.8 million fee being discussed to bring the Schalke player to White Hart Lane this January, report Sky Sports.
