Over in Spain, former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric is having a terrible time and he has been linked with a move back to England with Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea all interested.

The Croatian playmaker signed for Madrid in a £33m deal last summer but it is thought the capital club are willing to sacrifice some of that to end his time at Santiago Bernabeu.

The same club, Real Madrid, are also interested in making a move for Sergio Aguero and it is thought that his recent break up to Giannina Maradona will see him want to leave England.

A move back to Madrid with Real has been touted for a long time but just how much they would be willing to pay for the former Atletico Madrid striker is not known.

Chelsea fans will be happy as Frank Lampard looks set to sign a new deal that would see him retire at the club. The England international has been in good form of late and owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly had a change of heart over a new deal.

Meanwhile, a little lower down the table and Stoke City have been busy. Manager Tony Pulis is keen to send Michael Owen out of the Brittania Stadium and a move to Austalia to join Emile Heskey is looking all the more likely.

Spurs have made a decision to sell Emmanuel Adebayor, according to The Daily Star. The Togolese frontman has been in poor form this season and Daniel Levy is keen to sell and free up his astronomical wages.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp loves the transfer market and he is in talk with no less than six players. Nicolas Anelka, Robbie Keane and Tim Cahll are three of those as he looks to bring in some much needed experience.
