All of the latest news about Liverpool.

New signing Daniel Sturridge could make his debut for Liverpool in the FA Cup tie away at Mansfield this weekend. Sturridge has just joined the club from Chelsea in a deal worth around £12 million. Brendan Rodgers is also set to hand starts to a number of the club’s younger players.

Defender Jose Enrique may struggle to be fit for the FA Cup clash against Mansfield Town this weekend with a hamstring problem. The Spaniard is thought to have picked up the slight problem just after the final whistle was blown in the match against QPR at the end of December.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Blackpool’s Tom Ince is trying to force a £5 million to Liverpool before his club’s FA Cup match against Fulham. It is widely expected that Ince will play for Blackpool if he is still at the club which would mean he is cup tied if he joins Liverpool at a later date.

Raheem Sterling is targeting another ‘dream’ ahead of Liverpool’s FA Cup match against Mansfield this weekend. Sterling has never played in an FA Cup game and he says it will be a dream come true if Brendan Rodgers selects him. However, many sources are suggesting Sterling may be rested for the match.

Brendan Rodgers has hinted that he may use Daniel Sturridge in a central striker role. There has been much debate over how Liverpool’s new signing will be used considering the effectiveness of Luis Suarez in the attack so far this season. It could mean Suarez is forced to play a slightly wider position.

Steven Gerrard says Luis Suarez can rip Manchester United apart in the club’s next Premier League game. United won the match at Anfield 2-1 but Gerrard has suggested Suarez is well placed to take advantage of a United defence which has routinely conceded goals at early times this season.

Joe Cole has left the club and returned to former side West Ham United. Brendan Rodgers said in December that Cole would not be stopped from leaving Liverpool if a club were in for him and the parties could agree a deal. Cole scored for Liverpool against West Ham earlier in the season.

Midfielder Lucas says he is getting close to full fitness after a prolonged period out with injury. Lucas recently returned to the first team and the Brazilian has suggested that he isn’t far away from playing at his best for the club. A persistent thigh problem meant Lucas missed most of the first half of the season.
