#RafaOut! - Chelsea fans react on Twitter to QPR defeat

Benitez Tour 2

The Chelsea faithful are once again calling for the head of the former Liverpool boss who is enjoying a tumultuous time at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea suffered one of the shocks of the season on Wednesday night as they were downed at home by relegation threatened QPR. To add salt in the wounds the victorious goal came via an ex-Chelsea ‘flop’ in the form of Shaun Wright-Phillips as Harry Redknapp’s men reigned supreme in this West London derby.

For Rafa Benitez it was his second league defeat since taking over from Roberto Di Matteo with the previous defeat also against a London club when West Ham won 3-1 at Upton Park. Many fans were perturbed by the fact Benitez decided to rest players for the fixture including the likes of Eden Hazard, Juan Mata and Ashley Cole and handing opportunities to the likes of Marko Marin and Ryan Bertrand.

It seems to have backfired as it has given extra cannon fodder to those Chelsea fans that were so vociferously against the Spaniard’s appointment in the first place. Despite recently thrashing Aston Villa 8-0 with a scintillating performance and earning a solid win at Everton in recent fixtures there was once again a call for Rafa to be removed after defeat to their local rivals.

His recent good form and vocal support for a new contract for Frank Lampard had started to win round some fans but any reservations that remained for the former Liverpool boss reared up in response to this most recent disappointment.

Some pointed out the team rotation as the main reason of blame while others noted that former gaffer Di Matteo would have given the fixture much more credence in regard to the rivalry between both clubs and not have fielded an understrength side.

Needless to say some fans are still assured of what they want.

Here is a collection of Tweets on the matter…
