Liverpool have missed out on signing Sofiane Feghouli from Valencia.
Liverpool were linked with signing Algerian winger Sofiane Feghouli last month - They can now cross him off their list of potential January buys.
His club, Valencia, announced earlier today that they have signed him to a new contract until 2016 - A clear indicator he will not be heading anywhere this transfer window. You can read the story here.
The Mirror reported on December 17 that Liverpool had entered the race for his signature, although the chances of tempting him away were always a long shot considering Valencia's Champions League involvement.
Feghouli had played a key role in their progression to the knockout stages, scoring an equaliser against Bayern Munich.
He was tipped as a replacement for Stewart Downing, but the former Middlesbrough man's return to form - Even if it is a flash in the pan, appears to be giving Brendan Rodgers second thoughts about ditching him and bringing in a replacement.
If he does decide to bring in a new winger this month, Feghouli won't be an option, they will have to look elsewhere.
