A report has claimed Tottenham Hotspur are bidding for Yann M'Vila, who was a target for Arsenal in the summer.
French international midfielder Yann M'Vila could be heading for Tottenham Hotspur in January, it is being reported.
Tottenham are said to be preparing an 8 million Euros offer for the midfielder who currently plays for Rennes.
M'Vila has a contract with Rennes until 2015, and has been regularly linked with a move to England.
The defensive midfielder is a very disciplined player in his role, and one of the best prospects in his position in Europe - But disciplinary problems over the past 12 months have seen his stock wane.
Arsenal were very keen on him at the start of last summer, but elected not to move for him, with Wenger said to be put off by his disciplinary issues.
The player is currently banned from playing for France until the year 2014 after ignoring team curfew rules and attending a nightclub ahead of a fixture with younger teammates.
However this could be spun as a good thing for any Premier League club, as they would not have to worry about him picking up injuries on international duty.
Tottenham were reported to have registered their interest in M'Vila at the end of the last transfer window, but did not move for him.
The player has previously been valued at twice Tottenham's £8 million reported offer, so it remains to see if Rennes would accept it.
The second sticking point with this deal, is how much Spurs need him. They currently have one of the strongest midfields in the league, with Sandro, Dembele, and now Parker returning.
What do you think? Is he a player Spurs need?
