News, views, and gossip relating to Tottenham Hotspur over the past 24 hours.

Andre Villas-Boas has hailed Tottenham's grit after winning 1-0 over a dangerous Swansea City side. Scott Parker came off the bench in the final minute in the game, completing his comeback from injury.

The manager was on hand to give an update into further injuries at the club. He told SkySports both Michael Dawson and Gareth Bale are hoping to be available for next week's game at home to Stoke City. Benoit Assou-Ekotto is a further week away.

He said: "Michael is returning next week, Bale next week. Benoit is not far off. Scott is an important player. The injuries we have had, now it is a major, major bonus for us.

"Competition obviously increases for players but it is going to be the first time we have had these players available, which is going to be an extremely important thing for us."

However that good news is punctured by the fact Emmanuel Adebayor could face a spell on the sidelines. The Togolese striker limped off with an impact injury to his ankle, along with hamstring worry against Swansea, and is to undergo a scan to ascertain the extent of the setback. AVB has said he remains hopeful.

Another optimist is midfielder Sandro, who says Spurs can even beat the Manchester clubs to the Premier League title. He takes hope from Spurs current league position and win at Old Trafford earlier in the season and says while it is a possibility he will not give up.

Nick Harris has taken a look at Tottenham's victory, and examined five talking points Spurs fans can take from the narrow victory. We have also taken a look at Spurs' goalkeeper situation, asking which of Carlo Cudicini, Brad Friedel and Heurelho Gomes could be off in January.

Weekend matchwinner Jan Vertonghen has been busy talking up former Ajax teammate Christian Eriksen, admitting he hopes the Dane moves to Tottenham. The defender described Eriksen as 'the best he has seen', adding the attacker is more than capable of playing for the club. Eriksen has previously stated he is keen on a move from Ajax, but will wait until the end of the season.
