Liverpool could be in line to pull off a shock loan move for Barcelona forward Isaac Cuenca. Liverpool have been linked with a possible move for Cristian Tello or Alex Sanchez from the Spanish club but Tello has signed a new contract while Sanchez’s agent has ruled out a move to Liverpool.

Liverpool are sweating over the fitness of key defender Jose Enrique ahead of the Premier League match against Aston Villa. The Spaniard was taken off during the win against West Ham United last weekend and he has admitted he doesn’t know if he’ll be fit in time to play.

A source at Anfield has suggested the transfer of Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea may be more difficult than first planned. It is reported that Sturridge wants to play in a central position for the club but Brendan Rodgers wants to use the front man as a slightly wider attacker with Luis Suarez in the middle.

Liverpool could face a strong challenge from Borussia Dortmund over the future of on loan Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin. Liverpool are thought to be keen on making the player’s loan move permanent at the end of the season but Dortmund have pounced on reports that Sahin is not entirely happy with life at Anfield.

Liverpool look set to offer young defender Andre Wisdom a new contract. Wisdom is just 19-years-old and local news sources in Merseyside are suggesting the club will submit an improved deal to the player to stop him leaving the club and joining one of their main rivals.

Liverpool have apologised to Fulham over the way they tried to sign current Tottenham striker Clint Dempsey. Fulham lodged a complaint against Liverpool after a number of sources claimed the American had signed at Anfield which suggested he had been tapped up by Liverpool.

Liverpool are ready to offer a new deal to goalkeeper Brad Jones to keep him at the club. The 30-year-old filled in while Pepe Reina was injured and it looks as though the Australian will be retained as a back ‘keeper despite speculation linking Liverpool to a variety of world class number ones.

Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson has suggested Brendan Rodgers is just starting to see the success of his philosophy at the club. Lawrenson says in his column for a local newspaper that the club are making a real point to those who doubt Liverpool from the outside.
