Former Arsenal, Wolves, Cardiff, Rangers, Everton, Millwall, Tottenham, Liverpool, Celtic and Aston Villa players feature in a list of potential arrivals from the MLS.

Five potential MLS loan signings

The MLS season reaches its exciting conclusion on the 1st December and many eyes will be on LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo facing off as David Beckham looks to go out on a bang. While teams around the world are smashing piggybanks and looking at various intricate and bewildering systems in order to acquire ‘Golden Balls’ others may be looking elsewhere in America to find short-term solutions.

With the MLS not re-starting again until March many a big name will be searching abroad in an attempt to keep up their match sharpness and in some cases stay in contention for their international sides.

So who could be on their way to the Premier League?

Thierry Henry

Not a surprising shout this one as Arsene Wenger has already announced a potential desire to bring the legend back to The Emirates. Last season he came back and scored a fairy-tale goal against Leeds United on his return. This season has seen Henry rejuvenated by his stint at his beloved Arsenal and become nominated for the league’s MVP award. With Gervinho off to the African Nations in the New Year Thierry Henry would be a brilliant addition and will go some way to appease any frustrated Gunners supporters.

Robbie Keane

Enjoyed a stint on loan at Aston Villa last season and after the MLS Cup may consider a move to the Premier League to stay fit. Norwich City seem to be a leading name linked with bringing him in short-term with Keane being able to link up with former Tottenham colleague Chris Hughton at Carrow Road. He is under severe pressure for his starting berth in the Ireland squad so maintaining his form and fitness at a Premier League standard could be vital.

Tim Cahill

Only a recent arrival in the MLS after leaving Everton in the summer but he could return to the Premier League. Everton have seen their squad depth tested in recent weeks and bringing him back to Goodison would give decent cover in the midfield area. Cahill is already expected to be joining up with the group to train and Moyes has dipped into this market before with Landon Donovan. Cahill is keen on a move and believes he has ‘a lot to offer’ and is ‘eager to come back’.

Landon Donovan

Everton will likely pursue a potential deal to bring in the USMNT record appearance holder however he has been put on record as saying he plans on having a break from football after a continuous stint of two years playing with little or no breaks. This seems an unlikely proposition.

Kenny Miller

If we are being realistic the idea that the likes of Chris Wondolowski or Graham Zusi would come on loan to the Premier League is unrealistic. The possibility on a commercial front to bring in Freddy Adu is a possibility but more likely is to see a Brit returning to the UK. While Kris Boyd is one option Kenny Miller seems a more reasonable estimate. While he may not be the old Kenny Miller full of pace and verve he is still a canny player. The Premier League may be beyond him but don’t be surprised to see him arrive in the Championship or SPL on a short-term deal.
