Liverpool midfielder Lucas is set to make a return from a thigh injury when he turns out for the Under-21 side at the end of this week. Lucas has been out for long spells of 2012 after he suffered a knee injury followed by the thigh problem which has kept him out of the team over the course of this season.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is set to break the European appearance record for a Liverpool ‘keeper if he is selected for the Europa League match against Young Boys. The record currently stands at 80 games and is held by former legend Ray Clemence.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with Borussia Dortmund winger Kevin Grosskreutz according to reports. Liverpool are chasing further attacking players this January and the Dortmund play maker has admitted he would like to play in the Premier League with Liverpool thought to be interested.

Schalke star striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is refusing to comment on speculation that he could join Liverpool. Huntelaar’s contract at the German club runs out in the summer and he has not commented on the links to Liverpool instead stating his desire to concentrate on football for his current employers.

Hamburg have stated they have no plans to offload South Korean striker Heung-Min Son in January. Liverpool have been linked with the player as Brendan Rodgers has revealed he will be looking to bring another striker into the club to support Luis Suarez.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has come under heavy criticism from Swansea City defender Ashley Williams. Williams says he hates the Liverpool player more than any other professional footballer he has come across due to the arrogance Suarez apparently takes with him onto the football field.

Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen says he is hoping the club can secure Champions League football for next season. A poor start to the season has seen Liverpool lingering in the middle of the table meaning a place in the top four is the best they can hope for over the rest of the season.

Senegal international striker Moussa Sow has revealed that he turned down the chance to join Liverpool last January. Sow is currently playing his football in Turkey and reports linking Liverpool with a move for their former target have started to re-surface ahead of the next transfer window.
