The latest news from the world of Liverpool FC.

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has been questioned by police in relation to an alleged assault on a woman. Sterling has been one of the stand out players at the club this season and he was questioned under caution. Liverpool are yet to come out and comment on the story.

Liverpool winger Stewart Downing is on the verge of a loan move back to former club Middlesbrough. The player has been out of favour at the club so far this season and is seeking a way out which will allow him to play more regular first team football for another side.

Liverpool look set to miss out on Udinese defender Pablo Armero. The club were thought to be tracking the player but Juventus could be in pole position to sign him after reports suggest they have made a move to talk to the Italian club. Juventus will offer around the £8 million mark for the player.

Liverpool legend John Aldridge has urged Liverpool not to hand Raheem Sterling a mega contract. Aldridge has suggested that the 17-year-old will be too young to sensibly handle a massive contract reported to be in the region of £30,000 per week. Aldridge has questioned how much cash teenage players actually need.

Liverpool midfielder Suso has revealed that captain Steven Gerrard is the player he looks up to the most. Gerrard has been a first team regular since Suso joined the club and the Spaniard has revealed that Gerrard is the player he wants to emulate. Both players could feature in the Europa League tie against Young Boys this week.

Liverpool have a good enough squad to challenge for a Champions League place, according to Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere. Wilshere suggests that Liverpool can challenge any other side battling for a top four finish if they can put together a good run of results.
