Fortunately he never did this in the Premier League!
Gremio attacker Elano, who spent who years with Manchester City between 2007 and 2009 has landed himself in hot water in South America.
The playmaker, signed by Sven Goran Eriksson, reacted in a big melee after Gremio were eliminated in the Copa Sudamericana to Los Millionarios.
The below video shows him petulantly kick out at the referee's assistant, before sneaking off and pretending it wasn't him.
Upon realising his actions were captured on video, he promptly apologised on Twitter.
"Very sad, sorry everyone. I was wrong!"
If only Paolo di Canio did that years ago. It's probably too little too late though, the 31-year-old is expected to be given a substantial ban, as he should.
