Who will be on the next wave of Belgian talent entering the Premier League?

Fulham, Everton, West Brom, Stoke City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with these five players who could join the Belgian revolution in the Premier League.

The Premier League has been inundated; some might say infested with these tricky and talented things called Belgians in recent times with Eden Hazard, Thomas Vermaelen, Vincent Kompany, Maraoune Fellaini and Christian Benteke all leading the way.

The talk of the Belgian revolution doesn’t stop there however as many more are being linked with a hop across The Channel in coming months.

Dries Mertens

Linked with: Liverpool

The tricky winger is one of the regulars for the ‘Red Devils’ and has recently been in great form for PSV Eindhoven. His international record is sketchy as while he is considered a very talented player with plenty of attractive attributes his end-product has been called into question after scoring just one goal at international level.

He is a bit slight for the Premier League but as the likes of Juan Mata, David Silva and Santi Cazorla are proving if there are enough technical qualities at your disposal size really doesn’t matter.

Toby Alderweireld

Linked with: Tottenham Hotspur

Out of all five on the list the Ajax man is the one who would most fit the Premier League mould. Brought through the Ajax youth system he has exceptional technical abilities for a centre-half and is equally adept as a right back. Don’t let his technical prowess fool you as he is also brilliant in the air and formed a formidable partnership with current Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen at Ajax last season.

Laurens De Bock

Linked with: West Brom & Stoke

A young and versatile full-back who can also play on the wing; his attacking interest from defence and overlapping runs liken him to Leighton Baines. The difference being this fella is just 20-years-old and recently earned his debut call-up to the senior Belgian national side after catching the eye for his outfit SC Lokeren. Some press reports however believe he is more likely to move to a bigger Belgian side before making the leap to England.

Nacer Chadli

Linked with: Fulham

The FC Twente player has had a great start to the current campaign and that form has seen him earn interest from around Europe including the Premier League. Seven goals in eight appearances so far this term and, as is becoming the norm for Belgian players, he can play anywhere along the front-three.

Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe

Linked with: Everton

Everton would argue he should already be playing in the Premier League but FIFA rules got in the way of that one after the paperwork went in a little past the transfer deadline. He would have joined compatriots Mirallas and Fellaini at Goodison Park and all parties agree that Moyes is very interested in reigniting his interest in the 23-year-old midfielder.

What do you make for the potential of five more Belgians playing in the Premier League?
