Quilter, one of the UK’s longest established investment managers, has announced David Soutar as the latest addition to the Edinburgh investment management team.

Soutar has over 25 years of experience in investment management and has held a number of senior roles. Most recently he was joint managing partner at Castlefield Investments where he managed a range of portfolios for charities, pension schemes and private investors.

The appointment is the latest milestone in the expansion of Quilter’s Edinburgh office following its opening in January 2011. Since then the firm has recruited Alan Aitchison to head up the office, while Mark Hallam and Scott Peebles have also joined as investment managers. In September this year, having outgrown its previous base, Quilter relocated the office to a new site on Castle Terrace in the West End of Edinburgh.

Alan Aitchison, head of Quilter’s Edinburgh office said: 'David joins Quilter at an exciting time for the firm. Our style of truly personalised investment management enables us to understand our clients’ objectives better and the demand for our services in Edinburgh and along the East Coast is continuing to grow. Being able to add David to our team is a tremendous boost and his experience and expertise will be a considerable benefit to our clients'.

Quilter also has a regional office in Glasgow.
