Five Liverpool transfer rumours you haven't heard about

Giant Anfield Flag

Liverpool have been linked with many players ahead of the January transfer window. Brendan Rodgers has already said he’ll be bringing in players to add to his small squad.

Here are five rumours you may not have heard about.

Carlos Kameni of Malaga

Carlos Kameni is a 28-year-old goalkeeper currently contracted to Malaga. He has massive experienced on an international level having played 63 times for Cameroon. The pressure placed on Brad Jones in recent times means that Rodgers may be looking for an additional back up goalkeeper and Kameni could be the man as reports suggest that Malaga would be asking for around £3 million for his services.

Nikolay Mihaylov of FC Twente

Nikolay Mihaylov is a Bulgarian goalkeeper and the number one for current Dutch league leaders FC Twente. It is unlikely that he would be brought in by Liverpool as a back up goalkeeper and would be more of a long term replacement for Pepe Reina. Twente are yet to comment on the rumours so a price has not been talked about or hasn’t appeared in reports. However, Mihaylov could be tempted to a move to the Premier League and a generally higher standard of football.

Simon Kjaer of Wolfsburg

Simon Kjaer is a Danish central defender who was tracked by Southampton over the summer. He has been linked with a move to Anfield on some Danish rumour message boards as a possible long term partner for Daniel Agger or Martin Skrtel in the middle of the defence. Wolfsburg were open to bids for him in the summer so a move could happen quite quickly in January if Liverpool put together a bid.

Lucas Barrios of Guangzhou

Lucas Barrios is a striker who plays his football in China for Guangzhou. He joined the club from Borussia Dortmund over the summer having played over 80 times for the current German champions. He is also a regular for the Paraguay international side with 21 appearances and six goals. Barrios has publicly stated that he wants to move back to Europe from China with a fee of £10 million being talked about.

Fernandinho of Shakhtar Donetsk

Fernandinho is a name who has been linked with both Spurs and Liverpool over the last few weeks. The striker has said that he is looking for a move to the Premier League this January with Liverpool a possible destination as they are looking for a striker to compete with Luis Suarez. Shakhtar have refused to confirm or deny the rumours but the player is contracted to the club so any fee would probably be in excess of £10 million.
