Jack Wilshere has admitted that the recent England call-up has probably come a bit too soon for him but is pleased to know he is in Roy Hodgson’s future plans. The 20-year-old has not played for England since a 2-2 draw with Switzerland under Fabio Capello. Arsene Wenger is reportedly not happy at the idea of him playing for the Three Lions however it is believed that club and country have spoken and come to a compromise on the issue.
Granit Xhaka could emerge as a transfer target for Arsenal in January. Swiss newspaper Blick has reported that Borussia Monchengladbach’s resolve over their summer signing could be tested in the winter as Arsenal look to revive interest in the 20-year-old who they, along with Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United, missed out on in the summer. Any deal will likely cost in excess of £7 million.
More news on the pursuit of Dutch defensive sensation Riechedly Bazoer who is becoming one of Europe’s most sought after teenagers. The 16-year-old has been offered a three-year professional deal at current club PSV Eindhoven but it is widely expected he will move to England with Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United also interested.
