England legend Sir Geoff Hurst has given his backing to Wayne Rooney being handed the England captaincy. Rooney is leading England's attack tonight against San Marino alongside Danny Welbeck, and both have bagged first half goals.

It is being reported that Tom Cleverley could be in line for a pay rise after his excellent start to the season. He is currently believed to be on £40,000 per week, and it is claimed Manchester United are ready to double his wages. The 23-year-old has scored two goals in successive matches against Newcastle of late, his first competitive strikes for the club.
