Daniel Agger could be in line for a shock return in the Premier League match against Norwich City. The Danish defender was carried off on a stretcher during the defeat to Manchester United last weekend. Reports earlier in the week stated that Agger was suffering with a badly bruised knee that seems to have healed in time for him to possibly take a place on the subs bench for the Premier League clash.
The Liverpool fan who sent abusive messages to Premier League referee Mark Halsey over Twitter has been cautioned by police. Halsey was subject to abuse relating to his battle with cancer in 2009 after making a number of decisions which went against Liverpool in the recent Premier League defeat at Anfield. There will be no further action taken against the individual.
Striker Fabio Borini may be able to shake off injury in time for the trip to Norwich City this weekend. Borini was replaced at half-time in the game against Manchester United after suffering a knock to his ankle in the first-half. Manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he could feature in the match but has not trained all week making a subs place more likely than a starting role.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has come out and slammed referees for making basic errors against his team. Rodgers has spoken to referees’ chief Mike Riley to complain against the poor nature of referees in Liverpool matches. Rodgers has said that a number of decisions are going against his team and has warned they could start diving to try and get more decisions.
Liverpool main striker Luis Suarez has come out and stated that refereeing errors are part and parcel of the game. Suarez could have had a penalty in the Premier League clash against Manchester United when defender Jonny Evans appeared to step on him. However, the appeals were waved away with some saying that Suarez is a victim of his own reputation.
Statistics have shown that striker Luis Suarez has a conversion rate at the club which is only going down. Suarez has a conversion rate of just eight per cent so far this season which is marginally worse than his ten per cent for last season. He has scored 11 goals in 31 games for the club and the side needs this rate to increase over the coming weeks due to the lack of fit strikers.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has challenged the youngsters at the club to come good on their displays of talent. Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has named a number of young players in his side over the last three games and Carragher has stated that it’s now up to the young guys to get into the team and stay in the team ahead of more experienced alternatives. Carragher has also praised the achievements thus far of Rodgers working with a threadbare squad.
