Manchester United will face Braga, Turkish side Galatasaray and CFR Cluj of Romania in Group H in this season's group stages of the Champions League. United fans will have mixed memories of the Turks, after they knocked them out of the competition in 1994 when Eric Cantona was sent off, but went onto beat them 4-0 in the following year, with David Beckham announcing himself by scoring a memorable goal.
The Standard reports how Martin Jol is hoping that striker Dimitar Berbatov will be willing to take a massive cut in his wages and join Fulham. Berbatov, who worked with Jol while he was manager at Tottenham is said to be on around £100,000 a week at Old Trafford and United are said to be willing to lose the Bulgarian from their wage bill for just £4 million.
Jol's hopes look to be realised after he confirmed Berbatov was undergoing a medical at the club this afternoon. BBC Sport explain how the a deal is set to be completed by the end of today, this after snubbing Italian duo, Fiorentina and Juventus, the former of which were not happy at all.
The Sun report on how Wayne Rooney will stay and fight for his future at Old Trafford. This comes after the same source 'revealed' how tension between the striker and Sir Alex Ferguson could lead to him being sold for £40 million. Rooney has unsurprisingly rubbished these reports.
Three United players have been picked by Roy Hodgson for England's World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine. Winger Ashley Young however, has been left out. Talk Sport bring you the full squad.
