Another twist in the Nuri Sahin saga now as it seems Liverpool have overtaken Arsenal as frontrunners for his coveted signature. The Daily Mail report that the Turkish international fell out with Arsenal over the proposition of a buying option in any loan deal. Therefore Liverpool have emerged as favourites to snap up the former Borussia Dortmund and Feyenoord star as his representatives travelled to Anfield for talks yesterday. However reports in Germany have suggested Sahin has already passed a medical with Arsenal. Spanish pundit Guillem Balague confirmed that the player is weighing up his options.
The Mail are pushing Arsenal's link to Jesus Navas. Theo Walcott’s contract talks have stalled and this has lead Arsenal to seek replacements and the 26 year old Sevilla winger would be a perfect addition at The Emirates for a fee of around £17 million. However Navas this afternoon has claimed he knows nothing of the Gunners interest.
Former Arsenal star Eduardo has openly criticized the clubs policy on selling players following the recent departures of Robin Van Persie and Alex Song to Manchester United and Barcelona respectively. The Croatian international, who spent an ill fated spell with The Gunners after a horrific injury, sees this policy as counterproductive and his worried the club will go trophyless again this season. Eduardo himself is being linked with a move to Fulham.
Andrei Arshavin’s £70,000 a week wages may finally be about to be slashed off the bill as Zenit St Petersburg. ESPN report that his former team, with whom he achieved Europa League glory, have lined up a £10 million deal for their former captain who had a successful loan spell at the club toward the end of last season. He has previously stated he wants to stay in the London area but he may now have no choice but to move home in order to receive regular first team football.
Arsenal have reminded Andre Santos of his public image at the club and warned him on his future behavior and conduct ahead of potential internal disciplinary procedures. He was formally charged with dangerous driving after being spotted driving his car erratically before then failing to stop for the police, but he claims the Sun's report was exaggerated.
One of Arsenal’s young Gunners has completed a loan deal to Spanish side Deportivo Lugo. Samuel Golindo, who is a Bolivian international, has had rwo previous loan spells in Spain with Salamanca and Gimnastic.
