NFL: Tim Tebow for the Jacksonville Jaguars?

The Denver Broncos quarterback could move if the franchise draft free agent Peyton Manning.

Wow. The latest draft rumours have taken quite a twist.

Fox Sports has reported that the Jaguars are interested in acquiring Broncos QB Tim Tebow if Manning pitches up in Denver.

Manning spent six hours in Denver last week touring the facilities and meeting John Elway, and he is considering a move to the franchise.

It would be humiliating for Tebow, who thought he had found a home in Denver, leading them to the play-offs last year, where he helped them overcome the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Whatever happens with Manning, the speculation and fact that management met with him will unsettle him.

Now the Jaguars, who have new management after sacking Jack del Rio last year are ready to offer him an escape route.

The Jags lost out to the Redskins in the battle to trade draft picks with the Rams, which would have given them a free run at acquiring QB Robert Griffin III.

So they are in need of a franchise quarterback, but don't appear to be in the running to secure Manning's services.

Manning is also in talks with Arizona, Miami and the Tennessee Titans have expressed an interest, so there appears to be around a 25 per cent chance he will choose to go to the Broncos.

The Jaguars owner Shahid Khan said earlier in February that he would have drafted Tebow in 2010 if he had a chance, and will want to an improve a team which had a 5-11 record last year.

They have nothing to lose by going for it. Young QB Blaine Gabbert needs time to work on his game and will be unlikely to improve the side this year.

Tebow may divide fans, but he would be worth going for, and showed last season that if nothing else, he is a winner.

He played his college football in Florida, and would be enticed by a move to Jacksonville.

Whether it happens is another matter- and depends on Manning's decision, but we know one thing, and it is that this year's draft just got a whole lot more exciting.
