Top Firm Boss 'Could Care Less'

This has got to be the quote of the week.

Wells Fargo has been an unlikely winner in the investment banking stakes, hiring talent, doing deals and moving on up in the investment banking league tables.

During an earnings call to discuss his firm's 2011 full-year results, Wells Fargo CEO John Stumpf was asked how he felt about the bank's upwardly moving position in the league tables.

He (rather refreshingly) replied: 'We think of investment banking or capital markets as another product, another arrow we have in our quiver. I'm not driven by league tables around here'.
