Mumba - Credit Suisse has announced 11 appointments in its Investment Bank, demonstrating the growth of its franchise in India and its commitment to continued investment in this key market.
The 11 appointments are across the three departments of Credit Suisse’s Investment Bank: Equities, Fixed Income and the Investment Banking Department. They comprise five Directors and six Vice Presidents.
These appointments reflect Credit Suisse’s continued investment in India and our ability to attract leading talent', commented Mickey Doshi, Credit Suisse’s CEO for India. 'Our ongoing commitment to building the leading Investment Banking franchise in this market will benefit our corporate clients and institutional investors by delivering more market-leading idea generation, even better market insight and flawless execution across a broader range of products'.
These appointments follow the launch of operations at Credit Suisse’s Mumbai bank branch, which received its license from the Reserve Bank of India in August 2010. 'Our Fixed Income appointments in particular support our commitment to providing a broader range of solutions to our domestic and international clients through the bank branch, facilitating the flow of capital and investment into India', added Doshi.
Credit Suisse’s Mumbai bank branch enables the Bank to accept deposits and use its balance sheet to provide financing to clients, complementing the capabilities of Credit Suisse’s Non-Bank Financial Company in India. The license also permits Credit Suisse to deal in Indian Government securities, other domestic fixed income products and foreign exchange.
