UBS Investment Bank CEO Carsten Kengeter has been busy.
Here's his latest missive to staff on some key appointments in Global Capital Markets.
'Global Capital Markets is a key element in our ability to effectively serve the corporate, sovereign and sponsor client franchises. It plays a pivotal role in linking and leveraging the relationship coverage of IBD with the specialist sales and trading capabilities in the securities businesses, and we have high ambitions for further growth and profitability contributions from GCM.
I am pleased to announce that effective immediately David Soanes becomes Global Head of GCM, and member of the IB EC, and Rob Jolliffe becomes Deputy Global Head of GCM. David is a very strong client banker with broad experience across FIG, ECM, DCM and liability products. Rob has a depth of management experience and together they are well positioned to drive GCM forwards as a single integrated client solutions business. David will be primarily responsible for strengthening our ECM franchise globally and Rob will continue to be Co-Head of DCM, with Mike Davidson. We are privileged to have very strong regional teams across all of GCM, and David and Rob will be working closely with them, the current ECM/DCM management and their partners in IBD and the securities businesses, to ensure we deliver full value to our clients, allocate resources as efficiently as possible and drive bottom line growth'.
