Barclays Capital has announced several appointments to its Foreign Exchange Sales Team in the US.
Mike Testa joins the firm as a Managing Director and Head of Real Money FX Sales, Americas. Based in New York, he will report to Gregg Chow, Managing Director and Head of North American FX Sales. In his role, he will lead the firm's efforts to distribute FX products and solutions to asset managers, central banks, pensions and financial institutions in North America. Testa joins the firm after 15 years with Citigroup where he most recently was Managing Director, responsible for FX coverage on real money and global macro accounts.
Marlena Demenus joins the firm as a Director, FX Sales, covering banks and Commodity Trading Advisors (CTAs). Based in New York and reporting to Jeffrey Pio, a Managing Director and Head of the FX Sales Access Desk, she will work closely with the firm's Equities and Prime Brokerage businesses to cross-sell FX services and solutions. Demenus worked for Morgan Stanley for ten years, where she most recently was an Executive Director and Global Head of CTA Sales.
James White and David Weiss also join the firm as Vice Presidents in New York and San Francisco, respectively. White, who joins from UBS, will cover hedge fund accounts and Weiss, who joins from Deutsche, will cover corporates.
BNP Paribas Asset Management
BNP Paribas Asset Management has hired Martin Fridson, previously CEO of Fridson Investment Advisors and prior to that at Merrill Lynch, as its New York-based head of global credit strategy.
J.P. Morgan announced that it has appointed Adam Wallace as executive director and product head of J.P. Morgan's Hedge Fund Services business in Asia Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, Wallace will cover Hedge Fund Administration, Transfer Agency, Fund of Hedge Fund Custody and Middle-Office services for hedge funds and fund of hedge funds.
Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Wallace spent 12 years in the hedge fund and fund of hedge fund services business. He has held several product management positions in Europe and Hong Kong.
Moelis & Co
Moelis & Company has announced Anton Sahazizian will join the firm in August as a Managing Director. He will be based in the firm's New York headquarters and will provide senior level advisory solutions principally to clients in the Industrials sector. Sahazizian has over 15 years of experience advising clients on mergers & acquisitions and was most recently a Managing Director in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at UBS Investment Bank in New York.
Morgan Stanley has announced that Stephen Roach, Chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia, will relocate from Hong Kong to New York to become Non-Executive Chairman of Asia. In addition to his new role with Morgan Stanley, he will also join the faculty of Yale University, with a joint appointment at the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs and the School of Management.
Nomura Securities International, Inc. has announced that Aram Rubinson will join the firm as a managing director and senior analyst for its US Retail equity research team.
Rubinson joins this month from Highside Capital Management, where he was a sector head managing the Retail/Consumer component of a significant global long/short equity portfolio. Prior to this, Rubinson was a senior research analyst at Banc of America Securities, where he was the #1 ranked Hardlines Retailing analyst, according to Institutional Investor.
SG Corporate & Investment Banking has appointed Luis Vaz-Pinto as Managing Director, Head of Equity Syndicate, within the firm's Global Finance Division. He will be based in Paris, and report to Alvaro Huete, the Global Head of Syndicate. Vaz-Pinto joined Societe Generale in 2008 from Troika Dialog.
