Bank of America Merrill Lynch
Bank of America Merrill Lynch has confirmed that it has hired Rob Firth, most recently head of EMEA financial sponsors over at Deutsche Bank, to undertake the same role at the firm. Firth joins in August, and will report to global head of financial sponsors Karim Assef, and ex-Lehman executive Christian Meissner, who comes aboard in July as head of EMEA investment banking.
CIBC's wholesale banking group has hired Douglas Jones into its Toronto-based Corporate Solutions Group. Jones, who joins from RBC Dominion Securities, will focus on interest rate and commodity risk management services to corporates.
Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management has appointed Teddy Chu as Head of Wealth Planning North Asia, and Andrew Chan as Wealth Planner. Both roles will be based in Hong Kong. Prior to joining the German bank, Chu and Chan held senior wealth planning positions in HSBC's private banking operation in Hong Kong.
Jefferies & Co
Jefferies & Co has announced that it has hired David Katz as Managing Director and Senior Equity Research Analyst covering Gaming, Lodging & Leisure. Katz, who will be based in New York, joins Jefferies from Oppenheimer & Co / CIBC.
Keefe, Bruyette & Woods
Bloomberg reports that Keefe, Bruyette & Woods has hired Ronny Rehn from Morgan Stanley to head up its equity research group for Nordic, Eastern European and Italian banks.
London-based Dieter Turowski is to become Global co-Head of Morgan Stanley's Natural Resources M&A unit with New York-based Carl Contigugia. Turowski will be replaced as head of M&A for Europe by Michele Colocci, who has been promoted into the role.
Nomura Holding America has announced that Heather Wingate has joined the company as Managing Director of Public Affairs. She will lead the firms government affairs efforts in the United States, and will be based in Washington. Ms Wingate joins from Citi, where she has been MD and Head of Federal Government Affairs since 2003.
