Bank of America Merrill Lynch

BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research has announced that Claudio Piron will be joining as a Managing Director and Head of Emerging Asia FX & Fixed Income Strategy. Piron joins from JPMorgan, where he was head of Asia FX Strategy.


Citigroup has confirmed the appointment of Sunil Nair as head of its private equity business in India. Currently head of Citi's Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa international venture capital business, Nair will take up his new duties with immediate effect.

Credit Suisse

Credit Suisse has announced that David Mathers is to succeed the retiring Renato Fassbind as Chief Financial Officer of Credit Suisse Group. Mathers, who is currently COO and Head of Finance of the firm's investment banking unit, will commence his new duties on October 1st.

Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank has announced that Richard Newman will join as a Senior Risk Manager for Global Prime Finance within the bank's Global Markets division. Newman will be based in London, and joins from JPMorgan, where he was Head of European Prime Brokerage Risk Management.

Goldman Sachs

Goldman has announced that it has hired Sonjoy Chatterjee to work alongside L. Brooks Entwistle as co-CEO of its India operations. Chatterjee joins from ICICI Bank, where he was an Executive Director on the bank's board.

Jefferies & Co

Jefferies & Co has announced  the appointment of Mark Alan Fox as a Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets Distribution, Europe. Fox has more than 21 years of experience in financial services. Prior to joining Jefferies, he spent eight years at UBS, most recently as a Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets, Switzerland and UK.


Macquarie Group's Energy Markets Division has announced that Robert Faitell will join as a Senior Managing Director and Head of Americas Sales and Origination. Faitell will be based in New York, and joins from Morgan Stanley's Commodities Group.

Morgan Stanley

Morgan Stanley has announced that it has appointed Gergely Voros and Dmitri Avdeev as co-Heads of Investment Banking for Russia / CIS. Both will be based in Moscow. Voros has 13 years investment banking experience in Russia and CIS, and has led the origination and execution of some of the biggest capital raisings in the region. Avdeev rejoins Morgan Stanley after two years as CFO of Integra Group.


Nomura Securities International has announced that Michael Nathanson will join the firm as a Managing Director and Head of its US Media & Telecom Equity Research team. Nathanson joins from Sanford C. Bernstein.

Royal Bank of Scotland

Royal Bank of Scotland Group has confirmed the appointment of Julian Cheong as head of banking for Southeast Asia. Cheong's previous jobs included stints with Goldman Sachs, the Monetary Authority of Singapore and several positions in the Singapore government.

Standard Chartered

Standard Chartered has appointed Sean Wallace as Group Head of Origination and Client Coverage (OCC) with immediate effect. He will continue to be based in Singapore. In his new role, Wallace succeeds V Shankar, who has been appointed the Bank's CEO, Middle East, Africa, the Americas and Europe.
