Picture the scene.
US Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson is sitting in the Oval Office with George W Bush, who is in deep conversation with Jose Manuel Barroso, the President of the European Commission. And Paulson's cell phone goes off.
Mortified that he forgotten to turn it off, Paulson jumps up and pats himself down, frantically trying to find it. It's not in his suit coat, and it keeps on ringing. It's not fallen down on the couch, or under the cushions. Still it rings.
Ever so calmly, Secretary of State Condolezza Rice, also present at the meeting, points to Paulson's right pant's pocket - and there is was. Flushed and agitated, our Hank finally turns it off.
'Paulson', the President says afterwards, 'That's a three bagger: in the Oval Office; with a visiting head of state; and you couldn't find it!'. It never happened again.
