The Original 'Superwoman' Is Back

Well, she's back. After her departure from Societe Generale last year, the breakdown of her marriage and the shattering of her dreams to become a star fund manager in Australia, Nicola Horlick returns - to start and run a fund management advisory business from Knightsbridge.

The business, which will commence trading early next year, will look over the activities of 2,000 fund managers and advise clients on who the best are in certain areas. Horlick, who has persuaded City corporate governance guru, Sir Derek Higgs, to chair the new venture, will also run an actively managed real estate fund. Nicola's new boyfriend is said to be in property development. Horlick's aides are believed to have boasted that her business could be worth billions in just a matter of years.

Although she originally wanted to call the new venture 'Indigo' (but was thwarted when she apparently discovered that a US debt company had already bagged the name), she has settled on 'Bramdean' - the name of the Hampshire village where Horlick has a weekend retreat. How sweet.
